Valeleaf Expands Organic Matcha Production Capacity

Valeleaf is proud to announce the opening of our new state-of-the-art matcha processing facility in Uji, Japan, marking a significant milestone in our commitment to meeting the growing global demand for premium ceremonial grade matcha.
Strategic Investment in Quality
The new 5,000 square meter facility features advanced stone-grinding technology imported from traditional craftsmen, capable of producing over 200 tons of premium matcha annually. This represents a 40% increase in our total production capacity.
"This investment reflects our long-term commitment to quality and sustainability," said Dr. Sarah Chen, CEO of Valeleaf. "We're not just increasing volume – we're enhancing our ability to deliver the finest matcha while maintaining the traditional methods that make Japanese matcha world-renowned."
Preserving Tradition, Embracing Innovation
While the facility incorporates modern quality control systems and automated packaging lines, the core grinding process remains true to centuries-old traditions. Each batch is stone-ground at controlled temperatures to preserve the delicate flavor compounds and vibrant green color that define premium matcha.
Meeting Market Demand
The expansion comes in response to surging global interest in matcha, driven by growing consumer awareness of its health benefits and versatility in food and beverage applications. North American and European markets have shown particularly strong growth, with demand increasing by over 60% in the past two years.
The facility has already begun operations and will reach full production capacity by Q3 2026.
